DTC P1607: Pcm Internal Failure

  1. Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Turn ignition on. Wait 30 seconds. If DTC P1607 does not set, go to next step. If DTC P1607 sets, substitute known-good PCM, then recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM.
  2. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition back on. Wait 10 seconds. If DTC P1607 sets, substitute known-good PCM, then recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM. If DTC P1607 does not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time.
