Integra (A/T)
- Remove intake air duct from throttle body. Ensure engine coolant temperature is less than 86°F (30°C). Start engine and allow to idle. Place finger over lower port in throttle body. See Fig 1
. If engine speed drops, check engine coolant level and for air in cooling system. If okay, replace fast idle thermo valve and recheck for symptom.
- Place finger over upper port in throttle body. If engine idle speed decreases, check for vacuum leaks, ensure throttle valve is completely closed and repair as necessary. If engine speed does not decrease, adjust idle speed. If idle speed will not adjust, replace idle air control (IAC) valve and recheck for symptom.
