Catalytic Converter Codes

NOTE:
  • Do not turn ignition switch off.
  • When negative battery cable is disconnected, all readiness codes are cleared.
  • On MDX, when ECM/PCM is cleared with scan tool, all readiness codes are cleared.

Ensure ambient temperature is 20-95°F (-7-35°C).

  1. Connect scan tool to DLC. See Figure or Figure .
  2. Start engine and hold at 3000 RPM with no load until radiator fan comes on.
  3. Drive vehicle for about 10 minutes, without stopping, on a highway. Speed can vary.
  4. With transmission in "D5" position, drive at steady speed between 50 and 62 MPH for 30 seconds. Then decelerate with throttle completely closed for 5 seconds.
  5. Repeat step  4 three times. Between each repetition, close throttle completely for 1-2 seconds. If engine is stopped during this part of procedure, go to step  3 and start again.
  6. Using scan tool, check for readiness codes.
