Service Information

If you want to know the current program ID of a programmable ECU, look no further than the applicable Data List  in the HDS.

For example, if you want to know it for the ECM/PCM, just go to the Data List  for PGM-FI. There at the top of the screen you'll see the VIN, and to the right of it, the system.

Next to the system, you'll see the ECU ID. This number is often needed when you report problems with HDS software. In our example, it's 28 10 01 00 50.

And next to the ECU ID, you'll see the program ID. In our example, it's 37805-RK2-A030.  Keep in mind, in other systems the first five characters might be different. For example, a program ID for A/T might start with 37806.

In some cases, the program ID is shortened to the last six characters. In our example, it would be K2A030.  In some early models, you'll see just this shortened version.
