Inside Automatic Day/Night Mirror
- Carefully pry off front reading light lens. Remove mounting screws and reading light assembly. Disconnect inside automatic day/night mirror 3-pin connector. Check for continuity between ground and inside automatic day/night mirror 3-pin harness connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check for open in Black wire between inside automatic day/night mirror and ground G581. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Ground G581 is located under carpet of front passenger seat.
- Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage between ground and inside automatic day/night mirror 3-pin harness connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for blown fuse No. 9 (7.5-amp) in driver's underdash fuse/relay block. If fuse is okay, check for open in circuit between inside automatic day/night mirror and fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Ensure ignition is on and transmission is in "R" position. Check for battery voltage between ground and inside automatic day/night mirror 3-pin harness connector terminal No. 2 (Green/Black wire). If battery voltage exists, replace inside automatic day/night mirror. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in circuit between driver's underdash fuse/relay block and inside automatic day/night mirror. If circuit is okay, check reverse relay operation. See REVERSE RELAY under COMPONENT TESTS. If reverse relay is okay, check for a faulty A/T gear position switch (A/T), or faulty back-up light switch (M/T).
