Fuel System Pressure Release: MDX

NOTE: A DTC or a temporary DTC may be set during this procedure. Check for DTCs afterwards and clear them if necessary.

Obtain navigation system and radio anti-theft codes from customer, and make note of selected radio presets. Remove dashboard lower cover. Remove PGM-FI main relay No. 2. Loosen fuel tank filler cap. Start engine, let it idle until it stalls. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove quick connect fitting cover. Place clean shop rag over quick connect fitting and release the quick connect fitting. To install, align quick connect fitting with the fuel line. Press quick connect fitting onto the line until both retainer pawls lock with a clicking sound. Install PGM-FI main relay No. 2. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Reprogram navigation system and radio anti-theft codes and radio station presets. Then perform the following:

PCM idle relearn procedure. See PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - MDX article.
Power window control unit reset procedure. Turn ignition switch off. Turn ignition switch on. Lower drivers window down by pushing switch to the second detent position; when window reaches bottom, hold drivers window switch in the DOWN position for 2 seconds. Raise drivers window up by pulling window switch to the second detent; when the window reaches top, hold drivers window switch in UP position for 2 seconds. If the drivers window does not work in AUTO, reset power window control unit according to the above procedure again.
