Catalytic Converter Codes

NOTE: Do not turn ignition switch off.

NOTE: When negative battery cable is disconnected, all readiness codes are cleared.

Ensure ambient temperature is 20-95°F (-7-35°C).

Connect scan tool to DLC. See Figure .
Start engine and hold at 3000 RPM with no load until radiator fan comes on.
Drive vehicle for about 10 minutes, without stopping, on a highway. Speed can vary.
With A/T in "D5" position, M/T in 5th gear, drive at steady speed between 50 and 62 MPH for 30 seconds. Then decelerate with throttle completely closed for 5 seconds.
Repeat step 4 three times. Between each repetition, close throttle completely for 1-2 seconds. If engine is stopped during this part of procedure, go to step 3 and start again.
Using scan tool, check for readiness codes.
