DTC P2227: Barometric Pressure Sensor, Range/Performance Problem

CAUTION: When substituting or replacement of PCM is recommended, see PCM REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT  for important precautions.
NOTE: Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor us located inside PCM and is not available separately.
NOTE: If DTC P0107, P0108, P1128 and/or P1129 are stored at the same time as DTC P2227, troubleshoot these first, them recheck for DTC P2227.
  1. Turn ignition on and wait 2 seconds. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, check BARO sensor in the DATA list. If atmospheric pressure is measured, go to next step. If atmospheric pressure is not measured, Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If problem goes away with a known-good PCM, replace original PCM. Then repeat this step.
  2. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR menu. Start engine. Hold engine at 3000 RPM with no load in (Park or Neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let engine idle. Turn ignition off.
  3. Test drive vehicle under the following conditions:
    • Engine coolant temperature more than 158°F (70°C).
    • A/T in "D" position.
    • Throttle position between 12-20° for 2 seconds.
  4. Using the Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, monitor OBD STATUS for DTC P2227 in the DTCs menu. If it FAILED, go to next step. If it is passed problem is intermittent, system is OK. If it is NOT COMPLETED, go to step 2 and recheck.
  5. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTC menu. If DTC P2227 is set, check for poor connections or loose terminals at PCM harness connector. Go to step  1 . If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are set, troubleshoot those indicated. If there are no Temporary DTCs or DTCs set, PCM was updated, troubleshooting is complete. If PCM was substituted, replace original PCM.
