EGR Monitor & Readiness Code

NOTE: Do not turn ignition switch off during this procedure.
NOTE: Enable criteria includes: Engine coolant temperature at 176°F (80°C) or higher.
  1. Connect Honda PGM Tester or the HDS to DLC. See Figure .
  2. Start engine and test drive vehicle at a steady speed with A/T in "D" position 50-62 MPH or above for more than 10 seconds.
  3. Decelerate from 50-62 MPH or above by completely releasing throttle for at least 5 seconds.If the engine stops during procedure, start test drive again.
  4. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, check OBD status screen for DTC P0401 in the DTCs menu. If it passed readiness is complete. If readiness is not set to complete, repeat the procedure.
