DTC B1809: Power Seat Control Unit Lost Communication with Door Multiplex Control Unit (Memory Switch Message)

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN system diagnosis test mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).
  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
  3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC B1809 indicated? 

    1. YES  - Go to step  4.
    2. NO  - Check for poor connections. If OK, check battery condition and charging system.
  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Are DTCs B1006, B1058, and B1160 indicated? 

    1. YES  - Go to step  7.
    2. NO  - Go to step  5.
  5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  6. Do the POWER SEAT CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST  .

    Is the input test OK? 

    1. YES  - Faulty power seat control unit.
    2. NO  - Refer to the POWER SEAT CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST  and correct the cause.
  7. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  8. Do the DOOR MULTIPLEX CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST .

    Is the input test OK? 

    1. YES  - Faulty door multiplex control unit.
    2. NO  - Refer to the door multiplex control unit input test and correct the cause.
