Engine Oil Replacement
- Warm up the engine.
- Remove the drain bolt (A), and drain the engine oil.
- Reinstall the drain bolt with a new washer (B).
- Refill the engine with the recommended oil (see
LUBRICANTS ABD FLUIDS
).NOTE: Always use Mobil 1® P/N 5W-30-MB1-000 or an equivalent oil that meets the ACURA HT0-06 standard. Not all synthetic oil will meet this standard.
Capacity
At Oil Change: 4.5 L (4.8 US qt)
At Oil Change including Filter: 4.7 L (5.0 US qt)
After Engine Overhaul: 5.8 L (6.1 US qt)
- If the maintenance minder required to replace the engine oil, reset the maintenance minder (see GENERAL INFORMATION (INFORMATION DISPLAY) ) and this procedure is complete. If the maintenance minder did not require replacement of the engine oil, go to step 6.
- Connect the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) to the data link connector (DLC) (see step 2 under HOW TO USE THE HDS (HONDA DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM) ).
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the powertrain control module (PCM). If it doesn't, troubleshoot the DLC circuit (see DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- Select the BODY ELECTRICAL with the HDS.
- Select the ADJUSTMENT in GAUGE MENU with the HDS.
- Select the RESET in the MAINTENANCE MINDER with the HDS.
- Select the RESETTING THE ENGINE OIL LIFE with the HDS.
- Run the engine for more than 3 minutes, then check for oil leaks.
