ECT Sensor 1 Replacement: Notes

  1. Drain the engine coolant (see COOLANT CHECK ).
  2. Remove the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the charge air cooler (see REMOVAL ).
  4. Remove the ignition coil cover (A) and bolt (B).

  5. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (C), CMP sensor A connector (D), CMP sensor B connector (E), and the EVAP canister purge valve connector (F).
  6. Remove the harness holder (G).
    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the ECT sensor 1 harness.
  7. Disconnect the ECT sensor 1 connector (A).

  8. Remove ECT sensor 1 (B).
  9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C), then refill the radiator with engine coolant (see COOLANT CHECK ).
