Front Seat Disassembly/Reassembly

Special Tools Required 

KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *

* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program; call 888-424-6857

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
  • Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
  1. Remove the front seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  ).
  2. Remove the screws, and release the hooks (A), then remove the front cover (B).

  3. Remove the recline cover (A).
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Pull up the cover, then detach the hooks (B).
    3. Disconnect the recline switch and up-down switch connector (C) and lumbar support switch connector (D).

  4. Gently pull out the center cover (A), then release the hooks (B).

  5. If necessary, detach the clip, and release the hooks (A), then remove the height outer cover (B).

  6. From under the seat cushion, disconnect or detach the connector(s).
    • Passenger's 4-way power seat
      • Side airbag connector (A)
      • Power seat subharness connector (B)
      • ODS unit connector (C)
    • Driver's 10-way power seat
      • Side airbag connector (A)
      • Power seat subharness connector (B)
      • Seat-back heater connector (D)

  7. Release the seat cushion cover (E) and hooks (F) from the seat cushion frame spring (G), then pull the cover back, and remove the wire ties (H).
  8. Remove the seat-back (A).
    1. Remove the seat cushion cover (B) from the hook (C).
    2. Remove the bolts.
    3. Lift the seat-back, then pull the side airbag harness (D), seat harness (E), and ODS harness on passenger's seat, out through the hole in the seat cushion cover.

  9. Remove the screws, then remove the recline inner covers (A) from the seat cushion frame (B).

  10. Assemble the seat-back and seat cushion in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items:
    • Check if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, and if necessary, replace them with new ones.
    • Push the clips into place securely.
    • Apply multipurpose grease to the moving parts of the seat track.
    • To prevent wrinkles in the seat cushion cover, stretch the material evenly over the pad.
