Transmission Mount Replacement

  1. Loosen the upper torque rod mounting bolt (A).

  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) cover, then remove the three bolts securing the ECM/PCM.
  4. Remove the under hood fuse/relay box from the ECM/PCM bracket.
  5. Remove the ECM/PCM bracket.
  6. Support the transmission with a jack and wood block under the transmission.
  7. A/T model: Remove the transmission mount stiffener (A).

    A/T

  8. Remove the transmission mount (B).
  9. Install the transmission mount with the new mounting bolts (C).
  10. A/T model: Install the transmission mount stiffener.
  11. Loosely tighten the new bolt and nuts (D).
  12. Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height.
  13. Remove the splash shield.
  14. Loosen the lower torque rod mounting bolt (A).

  15. M/T model: Loosen the front mount mounting bolt (A).

  16. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  17. Tighten the transmission mounting bolt and nuts.

    A/T

  18. Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height.
  19. Tighten the lower torque rod mounting bolt.

  20. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  21. Tighten the upper torque rod mounting bolt.

  22. Install the ECM/PCM bracket.
  23. Install the under-hood fuse/relay box to the ECM/PCM bracket.
  24. Install the ECM/PCM, then install the ECM/PCM cover.
  25. Install the air cleaner assembly (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  26. M/T model: Raise the vehicle on the lift to full height, and tighten the front mount mounting bolt.

  27. Install the splash shield.
