Lubricants and Fluids

For details of the lubrication points and type of lubricants to be applied, refer to the illustrated index and various work procedures (such as Assembly/Reassembly, Replacement, Overhaul, Installation, etc) contained in each service information.

Always use Acura ATF-Z1 Using a non-Acura ATF can affect shift quality
D Transfer assembly (SH-AWD models) Hypoid gear oil GL4 or GL5
Use a SAE 90 or viscosity hypoid gear oil, API classified GL4 or GL5 only
Viscosity SAE 90 above 0°F (-18°C)
E Brake system (including VSA lines) Acura DOT 3 Brake Fluid P/N 08798-9008A
Always use Acura DOT 3 Brake Fluid
Using a non-Acura brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the life of the system

NOTE:
  • Lubricate the following areas using the recommended lubricants and fluids
  • In corrosive areas, more frequent lubrication is necessary
