ATF Temperature Sensor Replacement

  1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block both rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
  2. Remove the front undercover (A) and the splash shield (B).

  3. Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).

  4. Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B).
  5. Disconnect the ATF temperature sensor connector (A), then remove the ATF temperature sensor (B).

  6. Apply ATF to a new O-ring (C), and install the O-ring over the ATF temperature sensor. Then install the ATF temperature sensor.
  7. Check the connector for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary, then connect the ATF temperature sensor connector securely.
  8. Refill the transmission with ATF (see step  8 under ATF Replacement  ).
  9. Install the splash shield and the front undercover.
