Shift Lever Bracket Base Replacement

NOTE:
  • Refer to the SHIFT LEVER DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY  during the following procedures.
  • Make sure not to get any silicone grease on the terminal part of the connectors and switches, especially if you have silicone grease on your hands or gloves.
  1. Remove the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL  ).
  2. Grasp the shift lever boot ring, and slip it out of the shift lever knob.

  3. Remove the screws (A), and remove the shift lever knob (B).

  4. Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket from the indicator panel, and remove the indicator panel from the shift lever bracket base.
  5. Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light bulb from the socket.
  6. Remove the shift lock release (see SHIFT LOCK STOP/SHIFT LOCK STOP CUSHION REPLACEMENT  ).
  7. Remove the shift lock solenoid (see SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID REPLACEMENT  ).
  8. Remove the shift lock stop and the stop cushion as an assembly (see SHIFT LOCK STOP/SHIFT LOCK STOP CUSHION REPLACEMENT  ).
  9. Replace a shift lever bracket base.
  10. Install the shift lock stop and the stop cushion (see SHIFT LOCK STOP/SHIFT LOCK STOP CUSHION REPLACEMENT  ).
  11. Install the shift lock solenoid (see SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID REPLACEMENT  ).
  12. Install the shift lock release (see SHIFT LOCK STOP/SHIFT LOCK STOP CUSHION REPLACEMENT  ).
  13. Install the A/T gear position indicator panel light bulb in its socket.
  14. Install the A/T gear position indicator panel (see SHIFT LEVER BOOT AND A/T GEAR POSITION INDICATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT  ).
  15. Install the shift lever knob (see SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION  ).
  16. Install the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION  ).
