Shift Lock Solenoid Replacement
NOTE:
Make sure not to get any silicone grease on the terminal part of the connectors and switches, especially if you have silicone grease on your hands or gloves.
- Remove the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL ).
- Remove the shift lock release (see SHIFT LOCK STOP/SHIFT LOCK STOP CUSHION REPLACEMENT ).
- Release the lock tab (A) retaining the shift lock solenoid.
- Insert 4.0 mm (0.15 in) pin (A) into the gauge hole (B), and push the shift lock solenoid out.
- Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector (A), and replace the shift lock solenoid (B).
- Apply silicone grease to joint of a new shift lock solenoid plunger (C) and the shift lock stop (D).
- Install the shift lock solenoid plunger and the plunger spring in the shift lock solenoid.
- Connect the shift lock solenoid connector.
- Install the shift lock solenoid by aligning the joint of the shift lock solenoid plunger with the tip of the shift lock stop, then push the shift lock solenoid into the shift lever bracket base securely.
- Install the shift lock release (see SHIFT LOCK STOP/SHIFT LOCK STOP CUSHION REPLACEMENT ).
- Install the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION ).
