ATF Temperature Sensor Replacement

Raise the vehicle on a lift, or apply the parking brake, block both rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported.
Remove the front splash shield (see FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).

Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B).
Disconnect the ATF temperature sensor connector (A), then remove the ATF temperature sensor (B).

Install a new O-ring (C) on a new ATF temperature sensor, and install the ATF temperature sensor.
Check the connector for corrosion, dirt, or oil, and clean or repair if necessary, then connect the connector securely.
Refill the transmission with ATF (see ATF REPLACEMENT ).
Install the front splash shield (see FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
