Tailgate Lock Switch Test/Replacement

Open the tailgate and remove the tailgate lower trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA ).
Remove the rear license trim (see REAR LICENSE TRIM REPLACEMENT ).
Disconnect the tailgate lock switch 2P connector (A).

Remove the two screws and tailgate lock switch (B).
Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch. If the continuity is as specified, go to step 7.
Check for continuity between rearview camera 16P connector terminals No. 7 and No. 8, and tailgate lock switch 2P connector terminal No. 1 and No. 2.

If there is no continuity, replace the rearview camera (see REARVIEW CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.
