DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P07F6
DTC P07F6 : 9th Gear Incorrect Ratio
General Description
The gear ratio can be switched by controlling the planetary gear mechanism with engaging/releasing the clutches and the brakes. Engagement/release of the clutches and the brakes are hydraulically controlled by the clutch pressure control solenoid valve. The transmission control module (TCM) calculates the gear ratio from the input speed and the output speed of the transmission. If the actual gear ratio is out of specified range when the 9th gear is commanded, the TCM detects a malfunction of the hydraulic supply system, the clutch, or the brake and stores a DTC.

[ ]: HDS Parameter
Malfunction Threshold
The actual gear ratio is in following condition for at least 12 seconds when the 9th gear is commanded.
- Actual gear ratio is greater than 9.20.
- Actual gear ratio is less than 8.75.
Possible Cause
- Transmission internal failure (hydraulic supply system, clutch, or brake)
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
- Start the engine.
- Test-drive the vehicle in 9th gear for at least 20 seconds.
- Drive the vehicle in this manner only if the traffic regulations and ambient conditions allow.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the TCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the shift position indicator blinks and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
