DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0806
DTC P0806 : Two-Way Clutch Actuator Valve Stroke Sensor A Out of Range
General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) determines the forward/reverse switching position of the two-way clutch from the output voltage of the two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor. It normally outputs at range of more than 0.374 V to less than 4.478 V depending on the stroke amount. If the two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor A output voltage is a specified range for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

[ ]: HDS Parameter
Malfunction Threshold
One of these conditions is met for at least 3.0 seconds:
- The two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor A output voltage is 0.094 V or more, or 0.374 V or less.
- The two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor A output voltage is 4.478 V or more, or 4.905 V or less.
Possible Cause
- Valve body assembly failure (two-way clutch actuator valve stroke sensor)
- TCM internal circuit failure
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
- Start the engine.
- While pressing the brake pedal, wait for at least 10 seconds in each of D and R positions/modes.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the TCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on, the shift position indicator blinks, and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
