DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0882
DTC P0882 : TCM Power Input Signal Low
General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) activates and judges drive cycle by the signals from the IG1 line. The TCM sends the signal information of the IG1 line to the powertrain control module (PCM) via the F-CAN lines. If the signal information of the IG1 line received from the TCM is Low when the IG1 signal of the PCM is High for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The signal information of the IG1 line received from the TCM is Low when the IG1 signal of the PCM is High for at least 2.0 seconds.
Possible Cause

- TCM IG1 line short to ground
- TCM internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on, the shift position indicator blinks, and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
