Brake Pedal Position Switch Test: Test

How to use this service information .

NOTICE: 

When working with a vehicle equipped with the electronic air suspension, be sure to set it to the leveling off mode to prevent unexpected operation. Refer to the Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions - Refer to: Electronic Air Suspension System Connector Fitting Precautions or Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions for the procedure.

1. Brake Pedal Position Switch - Test
   WARNING:

   Do not connect the brake pedal position switch connector with the brake pedal position switch removed. The engine may start if the start/stop button is pressed as the system interprets that the brake pedal is depressed. Unintended starting of the engine is dangerous.

   Preconditions 

   • Brake Pedal Position Switch Adjusted - Refer to: Brake Pedal and Brake Pedal Position Switch Adjustment (3.0L Engine) or Brake Pedal and Brake Pedal Position Switch Adjustment (3.5L Engine)

   Procedure/Specifications 

   • Check the switch according to the table. (Figure 1 and 2)

   Result 

   • If the result is not specified, replace the brake pedal position switch .
