Ignition System: Description

The VSZ digital ignition system is used on 4-cylinder engines. Flywheel transmitters, intake manifold vacuum sensor and coolant temperature sensor supply input to ignition Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU adjusts timing, dwell and spark intensity depending on engine load. Ignition timing is not adjustable. The distributor is used only to distribute high voltage spark to the spark plugs.
