Ignition Coolant Temp. Sensor

  1. Disconnect plug from ECU, located behind right seat under panel. Connect ohmmeter to connector terminals No. 12 and 13. Check coolant temperature and note resistance. Resistance will vary with coolant temperature.
  2. Replace ignition coolant temperature sensor if resistance is not within specifications. See 4-CYLINDER COOLANT SENSOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS  table. If no resistance is noted, check for open in wiring to coolant temperature sensor. Ignition coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold. See Fig 1.
