Standard Procedure - Lifting And Jacking
NOTE:
Select the appropriate size lift pad, make sure to center the pad on the lifting buffers which are specifically recommended for shop lifting and jacking emergencies. The buffers are located on the underbody structure near the triangle markings.
Shop Hoist Lifting
- The four lifting buffer (b) points for the vehicle are located in the under body structure, and marked on the side structure with imbedded triangle symbol (a) as shown in the illustration.
- Lower the hoist arm pads so the hoist arms will clear the side structure and position the pads under the buffers.
- ADJUST the pads upward for a snug fit to the buffers. This will avoid any possible damage to the side structure from the hoist arms when lifting.
Emergence Jacking
- In emergencies the use of a low style jack will be necessary to clear the side structure.
- Position the jack pad on the buffers (b) and carefully lift the vehicle as necessary. Make sure the jack clears the side structure to avoid damage.
