  1. Remove connector from distributor. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to terminal 15 of ignition coil. Connect negative lead to terminal 1 of coil. See Fig 1. Turn ignition switch "ON".

  2. Voltage should be approximately 6 volts and then drop to zero (0) volts within 1 or 2 seconds. If not, replace ignition control unit. Also check ignition coil.
