Injection Pump: Installation
- Install pump on mounting plate. Leave bolts loose until timing marks are aligned. After aligning marks. Tighten mounting bolts to 18 ft. lb. (25 N.m).
- Reconnect fuel pipes and hoses, solenoid wire and control cables. Tighten fuel pipe connections to 18 ft. lb. (25 N.m). Install sprocket on pump shaft, do not tighten nut. Turn pump sprocket by hand to align mark on sprocket with mark on mounting plate. Insert holding pin (2064) in pump sprocket. Tighten nut to 33 ft. lb. (45 N.m).
- Make sure that crankshaft is at TDC and reinstall timing belt. Adjust belt tension and pump timing. Bleeding is not required.
- Install pump and align marks on pump and mounting plate. Install pump mounting bolts and tighten slightly. Align rear support bracket so that it contacts the pump and the cylinder block free of tension. Install bracket bolts and tighten all bolts securing pump.
- Install injection pipes, hoses, wire and control cable. Install injection pump sprocket and holding pin (2064). Tighten sprocket retaining nut to 72 ft. lb. (100 N.m). Turn sprocket by hand until the marks on the sprocket and the mounting plate are in line.
- Install drive belt and drive gear. Reassembly is reverse of disassembly procedure. Check and adjust pump timing. Bleeding is not required.
