Glow Plugs: 5000

  1. Testing procedure for the 5000 is similar to 4000 testing except for the following:
  2. In step 1), connect test light to No. 5 cylinder. In step 2), connect ammeter between No. 5 cylinder and battery lead.
  3. Each glow plug on 5000 draws 12 amps. Therefore, total current draw will be 60 amps. Total current draw of less than 60 amps indicates one or more defective glow plugs.
