Turbocharger - Diesel: Description
The 5000 Turbo-Diesel uses a Kuhnle, Kopp, Kausch turbocharger, mounted on the exhaust manifold. A wastegate is bolted to the turbo unit. Other system components include, an additional safety device to prevent excessive boost, boost pressure fuel enrichment device, and an oil cooler. Engine modifications to ensure reliability include a piston cooling system (oil jet spray) and increased oil capacity.
