Tachometer Signal

  1. Remove control unit panel located on passenger's side footwell. DO NOT unplug ignition control unit. Connect voltmeter between ground and terminal No. 7 of control unit. Pull back on boot to gain access to terminal.
  2. Connect tachometer to engine. Start and run engine at 2000 RPM. Voltmeter reading should be close to 1.3 volts. If reading is incorrect, replace ignition control unit.
  3. If reading is correct, but vehicle tachometer does not correspond with test tachometer, check wiring between terminal No. 7 of ignition control unit and vehicle tachometer. Repair if necessary.
