Electronic Control Unit (ECU)
The ECU is located behind cover in front passenger footwell. Ambient temperature around ECU must not exceed 180°F (85°C).
With ignition switched on, ECU is connected to battery voltage. An intake manifold pressure sensor is located within the ECU. This provides the ECU with engine load information.
The ECU controls the boost pressure, fuel mixture and ignition timing based on intake manifold pressure, coolant temperature and intake air temperature. The ECU also uses signals from the throttle switch to richen the mixture during wide open throttle operation.
