Knock Sensor

The knock sensor is mounted at the center on the left side of cylinder block. A 3-wire connector (Red) transmits signals to the ECU. The knock sensors signal will retard ignition timing in 3 steps of 2.6 degrees, up to a total of 7.8 degrees retard. When knocking stops, the ECU will advance timing in steps of 1.3 degrees, up to the point knocking started.
