ISSUE & TIP

Check the number 24 CIS fuel system control fuse when diagnosing a stumbling or poor cold engine performance problem on 1984 and later Audi 4000 and 5000 models. This fuse may be mistaken for a spare fuse and may be removed by a customer who doesn't know any better.

Removing the fuse will cause the same symptoms as a bad temperature sensor. So remember to check the fuse first, it could save you a lot of time.
