BOSCH Cis MOTRONIC System: Description

CIS Motronic system uses a single Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This ECU controls fuel delivery, ignition system and operation of emission control components. The CIS MOTRONIC system also has self diagnostic capabilities.

Input signals from various sensors, switches and signaling devices are constantly monitored for faults. These faults are stored in memory. Fault warning is indicated by flashing from a "FAULT INDICATOR LIGHT" (FIL) located in the instrument cluster.
