Coolant Temperature Sensor

  1. Ensure engine temperature is greater than 176°F (80°C). Remove harness connector from coolant temperature sensor. Connect voltmeter between temperature sensor terminal No. 1 and engine ground.
  2. Turn ignition on. Voltmeter should read 4.5-5.5 volts. If no voltage is present, repair break in wiring. If wiring is okay, replace CIS Motronic control unit.
NOTE: Full throttle switch terminal identifications are located on connector.
