Ignition Signal

  1. This check is necessary only if ignition spark is not present. Remove harness connector from output stage of ignition coil and connect LED Tester (US1115) to terminals 2 and 3. See Fig 1 .

  2. Crank engine and observe LED light on tester. If LED flickers, Hall Effect sensor is okay.
  3. If it does not flicker, remove harness connector from Hall Effect sensor on distributor. Connect multimeter to outer connections of harness connector. Turn ignition on. Voltage to Hall Effect sensor from ECU should be 9 volts minimum. If voltage is low, check battery, battery cables, wirings and ECU.
