Sensor Plate Lever/Control Plunger
- Remove ignition coil wire and ground. Crank engine for 10 seconds.
- Using pliers or a magnet, lift sensor plate through entire range. Resistance should be felt through range of movement. Move sensor plate quickly from raised position to rest position. Resistance should NOT be felt if plate is moved quickly. If resistance is felt, replace airflow sensor (fuel distributor).
- If is hard to move sensor plate in one direction and easy in opposite direction, control plunger is sticking. Replace fuel distributor.
