Sensor Plate Lever/Control Plunger
- Remove ignition coil wire and ground. Crank engine for 10 seconds. Using pliers or a magnet, lift sensor plate through entire range. Resistance should be felt through range of movement.
- Move sensor plate quickly from raised position to rest position. Resistance should NOT be felt if plate is moved quickly. If resistance is felt, replace airflow sensor (fuel distributor).
- If is hard to move sensor plate in one direction and easy in opposite direction, control plunger is sticking. Replace fuel distributor.
