KICKDOWN Switch

Remove noise damper. Disconnect kickdown switch connector. See the ELECTRICAL COMPONENT LOCATIONS  table at beginning of article. Measure resistance between kickdown switch connector terminals. If there is no continuity, kickdown switch is adjusted properly. If there is continuity, adjust kickdown switch. Refer to KICKDOWN SWITCH in the ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. If continuity is still not as specified after adjustment, replace kickdown switch.
