Crankshaft Position Sensor

  1. Disconnect Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) connector (located on left side of cylinder block). Measure resistance between specified terminals of CKP sensor connector. See Fig 1 . See CKP SENSOR RESISTANCE  table.
  2. If resistance is not as specified, replace CKP sensor. If resistance is as specified, check wiring between CKP sensor and ECM. For circuit testing procedure. See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR under ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES in SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.
