Basic Setting (Function 04)

Performing basic setting (function 04)

1. Drive vehicle for minimum of 5 minutes, choosing route that does not include any stops (if possible).
2. Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  . Then erase. See CLEARING CODES  .
3. DO NOT stop engine (switch ignition OFF) after activating DTC memory. Let engine idle.
4. Display will read - "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "SELECT FUNCTION XX".
5. Press buttons -0- and -4- to select "BASIC SETTING" function 04. Display will read - "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "BASIC SETTING".
6. If the display appears as shown: "FUNCTION IS UNKNOWN" or "CANNOT BE CARRIED OUT AT THE MOMENT". Read and check engine control module version. See ECM IDENTIFICATION  .
7. Conditions as listed for DTC 00516 (2121) are not met. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  .
8. If the display appears as shown: "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "04-BASIC SETTING".
9. Press -Q- button to confirm input. Display will read - "INITIATE BASIC ENGINE SETTING" "INSERT DISPLAY GROUP NUMBER XX".
10. Press HELP button to print instructions for inserting display group number.
NOTE: The display group (00 or 01) is to be selected depending on the type of malfunction present.
11. Select the desired display group number corresponding to the display group overview. See Figure .
