Basic Setting (Function 04)
Performing basic setting (function 04)
- Drive vehicle for minimum of 5 minutes, choosing route that does not include any stops (if possible).
- Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . Then erase. See CLEARING CODES .
- DO NOT stop engine (switch ignition OFF) after activating DTC memory. Let engine idle.
- Display will read - "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "SELECT FUNCTION XX".
- Press buttons -0- and -4- to select "BASIC SETTING" function 04. Display will read - "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "BASIC SETTING".
- If the display appears as shown: "FUNCTION IS UNKNOWN" or "CANNOT BE CARRIED OUT AT THE MOMENT". Read and check engine control module version. See ECM IDENTIFICATION .
- Conditions as listed for DTC 00516 (2121) are not met. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION .
- If the display appears as shown: "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "04-BASIC SETTING".
- Press -Q- button to confirm input. Display will read - "INITIATE BASIC ENGINE SETTING" "INSERT DISPLAY GROUP NUMBER XX".
- Press HELP button to print instructions for inserting display group number.
- Select the desired display group number corresponding to the display group overview. See Figure .
NOTE:
The display group (00 or 01) is to be selected depending on the type of malfunction present.
