Value Block (Function 08)

NOTE: For help in identifying Display Group Number Breakdown and Display Group Number Overview information charts (tables), refer to illustrations. See Figure -Fig 1
  1. Start engine and let engine idle.
    2. NOTE: Press HELP key for a print out of possible function options.
  2. Display will read - "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "SELECT FUNCTION XX"
  3. Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "READING/MEASURING VALUE BLOCK" function 08. Display will read - "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "READING/MEASURING VALUE BLOCK".
  4. If the display appears as shown: "FUNCTION IS UNKNOWN" or "CANNOT BE CARRIED OUT AT THE MOMENT". Read and check engine control module version. See ECM IDENTIFICATION  .
  5. Conditions as listed for DTC 00516 (2121) are not met. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  .
  6. If the display appears as shown: "RAPID DATA TRANSFER" "08-READING/MEASURING VALUE BLOCK".
  7. Press -Q- button to confirm input. Display will read - "READING/MEASURING VALUE BLOCK" "INSERT DISPLAY GROUP NUMBER XX". See Fig 1 .
  8. Press HELP button to print instructions for inserting display group number.
    NOTE: Display groups 06, 08 and 09 do not contain information applicable for customer service. Select the display group required with respect to the type of malfunction present. Select the desired display group number corresponding to the display group overview.
