Accelerator Pedal Cable

WARNING: Accelerator cable is easily kinked, handle with care. If accelerator cable is kinked, replace cable.
NOTE: Accelerator cable is fixed to accelerator pedal and cam disc. Length of accelerator pedal cable sleeve is not determined by securing clip.
  1. Pull off accelerator cable locking plate at throttle body. Depress and hold accelerator pedal to Wide Open Throttle (WOT) position. On automatic transmission vehicles, go to next step. On manual transmission vehicles, pull cable sleeve away from cam at throttle body until throttle valve has opened fully. Go to step 3).
  2. Pull cable sleeve back toward WOT position until throttle valve is fully open and kickdown switch is actuated (clicks). Go to next step.
  3. Hold tight in this position. Insert securing clip for cable sleeve. See Fig 1 . Release accelerator pedal. After adjustment, ensure throttle opens to WOT position and closes until closed throttle stop is contacted. See Fig 2 .
