Description & Operation

NOTE: Only wiring diagrams for S4 and TT are included in this article.

The power window system consists of control panel (located in driver's armrest) 3 remote operating switches, individual window motor/modules, wiring harness and connectors. Mechanical components include a regulator, carrier assembly and window hardware. See Fig 1 . Each power window has a separate control module that is integrated into each power window motor to control each window's functions separately.

The power windows can be operated at all times when ignition is in the ON position. After ignition is turned off, the power windows can be operated until either front door is opened. The control panel, located in the driver's armrest, operates all windows. The rear windows will operate only when the safety switch in control panel is deactivated.

All windows feature an "express" feature. When any window switch is pressed momentarily in the up or down position, window will move to full open or full closed position without having to hold switch down.

All windows can be opened or closed used ignition key in door lock. Opening windows can be accomplished by holding key in unlock position until all windows are opened to desired position. Closing windows can be accomplished by holding key in lock position until all windows are closed to desired position.
