Servotronic, assembly overview: Notes

The following list pertains to Fig 1.

1. Power steering gear with tie rods 
   • Assembly Overview, see POWER STEERING GEAR, ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW 
2. Connector for servotronic 
3. Relay carrier, 13-pin 
   • Located under trim in driver's footwell

     See appropriate System Wiring Diagrams article.

   • Relay for servotronic control module - J236- (position 13)
   • Checking voltage supply, see SERVOTRONIC, CHECKING VOLTAGE SUPPLY 
   • Checking speed signal, see SPEED SIGNAL, CHECKING 
4. Socket-head bolt, 3 Nm 
   • 2.5 mm
   NOTE: Do not open Torx bolts!
5. Servotronic solenoid valve - N119- 
   • Steering gear must be removed to replace servotronic valve.
   • Checking, see SERVOTRONIC VALVE, CHECKING 
   NOTE: DO NOT open Torx bolts!
6. Seal 
   • Always replace
7. Seal 
   • Always replace
8. Sieve 
   • Always replace
