Navigation System Layout, Japan
The navigation system (7T6) is part of Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- inside the instrument panel.
Operation is performed via the Multimedia System Control Head -E380-.
The navigation data is stored on an internal hard drive disc (HDD).
A Chip Card Reader Control Module -J676- with a Traffic Data Antenna -R173- is integrated.
- Front Information Display Control Head -J685- in center of the instrument panel
- Traffic Data Antenna -R173- at the top of the windshield on the left side
- Chip Card Reader Control Module -J676- inside the glove compartment
- Multimedia System Control Head -E380- in the front of the center console
- Information Electronics Control Module 1 -J794- inside the instrument panel
- Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- inside the luggage compartment on the rear panel on the right side
- Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- inside the luggage compartment on the rear panel on the left side
- Radio -R- inside the luggage compartment on the rear panel on the right side/in the left luggage compartment recess.
- Microphone Unit in Front Roof Module -R164- (Right Front Microphone -R141-) in the Front Interior Lamp -W1-
- Roof Antenna -R216-
Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding", refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Notes on MOST bus
The optical Data bus "MOST bus" is used in addition to the CAN bus.
A fiber-optic cable is used as a "connecting cable". Fiber optic cables are routed inside corrugated tubes for protection.
Replace complete fiber optic cable if possible.
The front surface of the connectors must not be dirty.
If disconnecting the connectors: Attach Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective CapsVAS6223/9.
When installing fiber optic cables, make sure not to go below the minimum bending radius of 25 mm. Do not crush or kink fiber optic cables.
