Oil Level, Checking With Oil Level Tester

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Perform the following procedure:

-- Adjust the oil gauge tester to the engine specific set value from the table on the above scale - arrow- by opening the opening the knurled screw and moving the adjusting ring.

NOTE: The lower edge of the adjusting ring indicates the actual value.

-- Insert the oil gauge tester all the way (up the ring) into the oil dipstick tube. Pull it out again and check the oil level.

-- Read the value on the scale and compare it with the value from the following table.

Engine Adjusting value on the upper adjusting ring Minimum oil level on the lower scale Maximum oil level on the lower scale
2.0L TFSI and 2.0L TFSI Hybrid 39 0 24
3.0L TFSI (Not for engines CLX* and CNY*) 132 0 13
