Reducing Agent Temperature Sensor -G685-, CHECKING
Function
The Reducing Agent Temperature Sensor -G685- provides the temperature information on the reducing agent to the Reducing Agent Metering System Control Module -J880- which controls the heating devices in either melting or warming mode.

Test Requirements
- Fuses OK
- Battery voltage OK
- Switch OFF all electrical and electronic accessories
- Vehicles with Auto. Transmission, ensure Selector Lever position is in "P".
- Vehicles with Man. Transmission, ensure Shifter Lever position is in "N" with Parking Brake applied
- Observe all safety precautions: SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

- CHECK: Reducing Agent Metering System Control Module -J880- wiring connector terminals T30 / 11, 18 to T30 / 30 for voltage
- SPECIFIED VALUE: Battery voltage
- CHECK: Reducing Agent Metering System Control Module -J880- wiring connector terminals T30 / 11, 18, to T30 / 10 for voltage
- SPECIFIED VALUE: 5 volts
- IGNITION: OFF

- CHECK: wiring for open, high resistance, short or electrical connector for damage, corrosion, loose or broken terminals
- REPAIR: faulty wiring or connector
- GO TO: Step 4

- REMOVE: Engine Control Module -J623-. Refer to appropriate service manual.
- CHECK: Reducing Agent Temperature Sensor -G685- electrical connector terminals 1 to the Engine Control Module -J623- electrical connector terminals T91 / 12.
- CHECK: Reducing Agent Temperature Sensor -G685- electrical connector terminals 2 to the Engine Control Module -J623- electrical connector terminals T91 / 42.
- SPECIFIED VALUE: 0.5 Ω (± 0.3 Ω)

- REPLACE: Reducing Agent Temperature Sensor -G685-. Refer to appropriate repair manual.
- GO TO: Step 4

- REPAIR: faulty wiring or connector
- GO TO: Step 4

- Perform a road test to verify repair.
- Do any DTC's return:

- Perform the diagnostic procedure for that DTC.
- no malfunction is detected in the wiring.
- REPLACE: Engine Control Module -J623-. Refer to proper repair manual for removal and replace procedures.

- Repair is complete, Generate readiness code. Refer to READINESS CODE .
